of West Memphis, AR
July 17, 1927 - November 5, 2019
After a full and blessed life, on November 5, 2019, C.L. Griffin was called home to be with his Lord. He was born on July 17, 1927 in Electric Mills, Mississippi to Clarence and Willie Mae Griffin.
C.L. met and married the love of his life, Velma Sims, on February 5, 1950 at First Baptist Church. He owned C.L. Griffin & Sons Electric Company in West Memphis, Arkansas for 51 years. He loved gardening, canning, western movies, hunting, and enjoyed catching fish, but never ate them, so he always gave them away. He is survived by his sons, Ronnie Griffin (Pam), and Rick Griffin (Terri); his six grandchildren, Jonathan Griffin (Valerie), Elizabeth Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Sarah Naylor (Nick), Hannah Williams (Brett), and Barak Griffin (Krystal); his nine great-grandchildren, Miller Griffin, Graham Griffin, Noah Naylor, Natalie Naylor, John Brayden Williams, Garron Williams, Kaydi Blanchard, Rylee Blanchard, and Dylan Blanchard; and his caregivers, Carolyn Parker, Takisha Butler, and Larry Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Willie Mae Griffin; his loving wife of 66 years, Velma Griffin; his brother, James Griffin; and his sister, Dorothy Griffin.
Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 N Missouri St, West Memphis, Arkansas.
Dear Griffin family,
I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Griffin. He and Mrs. Griffin were wonderful, Christian people. They were so much a part of my childhood along with you "kids" at First Baptist. Now more people to see when we get to Heaven. May you have joy in your many memories.
Rick & Terry and Ronnie & Pam,
Oh how I loved your mom and dad. They meant so much to me. They were like family. I remember when Lindsey had tubes put in her ears and they got up before the crack of dawn and took us to The hospital. They will always have a special place in my heart. Papa’s passing is heaven’s gain. It is wonderful to have the assurance of where they both are... no doubts. I wish I could have been there for the service. I prayed for y’all today and will continue. I love all of you!
Ronnie and Ricky so sad to hear of your Dads passing.
Prayers for ya'll during this time.
CL was a good man great mentor and made me the man I am, thanks CK love you man.
RIP. My friend.
Rick and Ronnie, so sorry to hear of C. L. passing. He has now joined Pappy in heaven. They are probably talking of pulling wire and turning on lights there. So many memories. I don't get around very well and have to use a rollator a lot to walk. So I didn't try to come over. God bless your families.
So sorry for your loss.Mr C L was the best man I've ever known! Always enjoyed working for him & enjoyed the fishing trips with him & pappy.
To CL Griffin's family, Wife Velma (God Bless), and two sons Ronnie and Rick. I was sadden when i heard about the death of my friend and neighbor CL Griffin. I have known CL an his wife Velma for several years. They were my neighbors, and also belonged to my same church; First Baptist Church. It was always a pleasure to see and visit with them, and view their beautiful yard flowers at their home. CL was a pillow in the community for many years, and had done his part to help make West Memphis a better place to live, and served many people, and had many friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family on this day. God Bless you, and hope everything goes well. I am sorry that I unable to attend the funeral and celebration of life, due to living in Paragould, at the Chateau on the Ridge, Assisted Living.
With great love,
Bill Felty

Ronnie & Rick, sorry to hear about the passing of your DAD, the old soldier, gardener, fisherman, great electrician. I enjoyed the association and friendship over the years and know how he missed your mom. HE fought the good fight and we are secure he knowing that one day we will meet again in a better place. GOD BESS YOU in this sad time.
Rick and Ronnie. I’m so sorry about Mr.C. Always thought the world of him He was a good man and a good boss. One thing about him he always gave thanks to the Lord and now we know without a doubt he is enjoying himself with his savior. Gary and Janie

Oh how sweet both your Dad and Mom were!! We all grew up together attending Calvary Baptist Church and there are so many fond memories. Very special to Mrs. Vaughn, my grandmother, and my Aunt Jean. Praise Jesus for all His goodness and mercy and allowing us to cross paths with your family during this life.
