of Forrest City, AR
March 17, 1949 - September 14, 2019
Danny Ray Bickerstaff entered into eternal life on September 14, 2019 in Forrest City, AR at the age of 70. He was born March 17, 1949 at the family home in Parkin, AR to Carl Benton and Lorane Lydia Belle Bickerstaff (Westmoreland).
He is survived by his wife Donna Bickerstaff; two daughters; Renee Gray (Greg) of Colt, AR, Jennifer Simmering of Wynne, AR and a son; Jeff Bickerstaff (Courtney) of Benton, AR; two sisters; Martha Jane ''Sister'' LaGrone (Carroll) of Caldwell, AR and Jackie Sue Key (Wesley) of Mountain Home, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lorane Bickerstaff and brother; Samie Carl Bickerstaff, MSGT-Ret ( US Air Force - Vietnam Veteran).
Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time in the outdoors with family and friends.
He was a professional truck driver until he felt a need to serve his community. On June 28, 1976, he joined the Forrest City Police Department as a Patrolman to fill that need. It was not a surprise to most since law enforcement officers and military veterans were deeply rooted in his family. He served over 20 years and retired as a shift Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division.
After being in retirement for a number of years, he continued his service with the St. Francis County Sheriff's Department as a Patrol Deputy for several years.
He also served a number of years as a volunteer firefighter and eventually Chief with the Caldwell Fire Department.

I am sorry for the lost of a great man. He was a man of few words, when he spoke you listened to his words of experience and wisdom. I have had few supervisors or friends that I would say were good, but this man was the greatest I have every worked for or with. The world has lost a great man. Will miss him greatly.
Our deepest sympathy for the loss to your family. Loved Danny very much.
From Carolyn and son Jeff.
