Lavada Roberts Norris, 84, of Marion, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas to Archie and Stella Roberts on August 28, 1935. Lavada was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion for over 50 years where she enjoyed being a member of the JOY Club. She was a fabulous seamstress making prom and wedding dresses for her three daughters, dolls for her grandchildren and crocheted many afghans for family members and friends. Lavada truly lived a fruitful and fulfilling life.
Survivors include: her three daughters, Dianne Kelley (Morris), Nancy Fogleman (John) and Carrie Maness (Jimmy) all of Marion, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Charles Earwood, Jill Mullen, Jan Butler, John Nelson Fogleman (Ashley McHugh), Adam Fogleman (Jillean), Kaitlyn Maness Wright (Brad), Mallory Maness and Lauren Maness; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Jayce, Jillian, William and Jude; one brother, William Spears; four sisters, Esther Sairls, Louise Johns, Brenda Welch and Shirley Booher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Norris; one brother, Floyd Roberts and one sister, Dorthy Gischer.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. A graveside service will be at held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers of The Community Compassion Center in West Memphis who loved their mother the last 2 years of her life.

I am so sorry to read of Lavada’s passing. I worked with her for several years at the courthouse under Mary Bassett. She was a great coworker and friend.
