Jackie ''Pop'' Gordon Holmes, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at the age of 87. Jackie was born July 13, 1931 in Gideon, Missouri to parents, Graden and Thelma Holmes. He was married to Bonnie Holmes for 54 years prior to her heavenly homecoming in 2008. Jackie was an Army Korean War Veteran. He was retired from a 40-year career as a diesel mechanic with the J.A. Riggs Caterpillar Company. Jackie, better known as ''Pop'' was known by everyone to be a wonderful and caring person.
Jackie leaves behind his daughter, Debbie Jones (Andy) of West Memphis; his brother, Charles Holmes also of West Memphis; five grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Craig Jones, Amy Jones, Carter Jones, Bailey Jones and five great-grandchildren, Austin Jones, Haley Jones, Bradford Jones, Eli Brackin and Jordan Jones who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; his son, Gary Holmes; one brother, Carl Holmes and one sister, Patricia Holmes.
The family kindly requests a donation be made in lieu of flowers to the American Stroke Foundation.
Visitation and service will both take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
