Clara Edith Bearden

of Jonesboro, AR

April 5, 1926 - October 26, 2018

Clara Edith Bearden was born in Iuka, Mississippi on April 5, 1926 to George and Maggie Choate. She passed from this earth into heaven on October 26, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Cecil Ralph Bearden Sr., and one son, Ronald D. Bearden.

Clara is survived by one son, Cecil Bearden, Jr. (Marion), of Trumann, Arkansas; two daughters, Joyce Howard (Glynn) of Tyronza, Arkansas and Rebecca Howe (Richard) of Colleyville, Texas; five grandchildren, Sherry Morris (Robbie), Stephanie Whitley (Jeffrey), Rhonda Bearden, Christy Bearden (Del), Brad Fletcher; four great-grandchildren, Cody McClendon, Dylan McClendon, Jake Collier, Wesleigh Whitley; and three great-great-grandchildren, Cole, Hazelle, Ethan and a host of family and friends. Clara is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Eric Driver and Tracy Driver; and five step-great-grandchildren, Paige Overman, Lexi Driver, Bryce Mitchell, Eric Driver II, and Autumn Starling.

Clara was very involved in her church. She served as church secretary, sunday school teacher, song leader, and many other capacities. She also worked as receptionist for a local TV repair company for a period of time. However, her greatest joy was taking care of her family and her grandchildren.

She loved the Lord with all her heart and is now rejoicing in heaven.

We would love to thank the staff at Ridgecrest Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Jonesboro, especially Mrs. Peggy Taylor who was one of her caretakers at the facility. Also, we would like to thank the staff at NEA Baptist Hospital and especially Dr. Blake Copeland who took such great care of her. In her last few days of her life on this earth, she was admitted to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 29, 2018. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Roller-Citizens with interment following at Tyronza Cemetery.

Flowers can be sent to Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 North Pine Street, West Memphis, Arkansas 72301 or donations can be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 East Matthews, Jonesboro, Arkansas, 72401.
