James "Jim" Clark Wiley

of Searcy, AR

March 19, 2020

James ''Jim'' Wiley 84, of Searcy went to be with his Heavenly father on March 19, 2020, at his home. His earthly father and mother, Lester and Irene Wiley, preceded him in death as well as brothers, Bob and Larry.

Surviving him is his wife Edith of 63 years; his three daughters, Denise, Kim and her husband Mickey, and Janet; one sister Carolyn; his grandchildren include Reagan(Ticia), Ashley, Blake(Luka), Audra(Daniel), Lindsey(Matthew), Paige(friend Austin), grandchildren by choice Chase and Lauren; great grandchildren include Elliette, Sawyer, Rooke, Caroline, Collins, Denver, Charlie, Emma-Lea(EJ), and Gentry, and coming in May will be Harrison, and one great grandchild by choice, Brooks.

Bro. Jim Wiley accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in January of 1960. He was baptized the same day at Second Baptist Church, which is now Calvary Baptist Church.  Bro. Jim surrendered to preach the gospel in 1964 while attending a revival at Temple Baptist church, conducted by Bro. Bill Burnett. He was pastor at Walker, Griffithville, Higginson, Temple and Calvary Baptist Churches. While attending seminary in Ft. Worth, TX he pastored at Mayfield, TX. God allowed Bro. Jim to minister in several foreign countries, the Philippines, Brazil, South Korea, Guatemala, Africa and Panama. Other area of revivals included Louisiana, Florida, Illinois, Montana, Iowa, Arizona, California, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and many in Arkansas. Bro. Jim accepted the call to pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in January 1993, a fulfillment of where he was saved. With a Bible in one hand and a hammer in the other, he gladly accepted. He took great pride in construction to the church. He often speaks of his beloved wife Edith, his family, friends and church families, their love and encouragement all along the way. When he opened or closed any service, you could fill the presence of God Almighty in his humble words. He was a true servant of our Lord. In the year of 2014 after 21 years at Calvary Baptist Church, Bro. Jim retired. ''To God Be the Glory.''

Due to the crisis of Covid-19 there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the future. At this celebration we are inviting anyone whose life was touched by his ministry can come and share a testimony.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1508 W. Center St, Searcy, AR 72143.

Bro. Jim Wiley was the first pastor for my husband, Joe Paul Daves, and myself after we married. Joe Paul gave his heart to Jesus while under Bro. Jim's ministry at Temple Baptist Church. Praise God for his life and love for the unsaved. We were so blessed to have known him. Prayers for his family in this time of grief. I look forward to attending a celebration of his life when the time comes.
