Sarah Jane Bennett Hardin

of Blue Springs, MO

June 2, 1915 - July 28, 2019

Jane Hardin formerly of Judsonia, Arkansas died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning July 28, 2019. She was an amazing 104 years old! Born on June 2, 1915 in White County, Arkansas to Benjamin Pearson and Nancy Martindill Bennett, she was the sixth of their seven children.

Jane was a high school teacher for 32 years at White County Central and Judsonia Schools. She overcame many obstacles to get her education so that she could teach and in doing so she touched and changed so many lives of her students. She loved her job and all her students dearly. She was a hard worker and for a period of time she had a store in Judsonia where many of her students would get their clothes for school and she made sure they had what they needed.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gavin, Garvin, Tom and Jason Bennett; her sisters Ida Langley and Tennie Byrd and her husband Mancy Hardin.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; her daughter, Janice Waller of Kansas City; her son in law John Waller; her granddaughters and their husbands; Lisa Bailey of Dallas TX; Kristi Walker of Kansas City and two great granddaughters; Adalyn and Kenley Walker and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In her later years, Jane moved to Blue Springs, Missouri to be closer to her family. She was such a loving mother and grandmother.

Funeral service will be at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas on Sunday August 4, 2019 with Visitation from 1-2 PM and Funeral Service at 2 PM. All services under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.

Aunt Jane was my Grandmother Ida Donnell Langley’s baby sister. Aunt Jane was a sweet lady like the other Bennett’s. I had her in in school for History & senior math. I had seen her several times since I graduated in ‘73’. She loved to talk. I kept in touch with her by yearly Christmas cards. Aunt Jane will truly be missed. I am sorry I wasn’t at visitation & funeral, I was on a cruise to Alaska & did not return until Sunday at 10 pm. I really wish I could have attended.

Ms Jane is an aunt by marriage to my mother. I never had classes with her at Judsonia, but after I returned from military service back in '78 and later bought my grandmother,'s house, she used to come by and pick up pears from my trees and bring me back some candied pears in a jar. Used to sit and chat with her when she had her used clothing store open next door. What a sweet lady and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Aunt Jane, I treasure the times I did get to visit you, but they were too few. You were such a wonderful big sister to my dad, Jason, and he was so tickled when he led you to the Lord. What a joyous time you must be having together now! Someday, all of this Bennett clan will rejoice together in that grand reunion!

Will always remember my sweet aunt Jane and her smile. She never ever forgot my eye injury as a child and always asked how it was and if I had any complications. She embraced Sally and the kids and always made you feel important. Our condolences to Janice and family. Rest in gods eternal care aunt Jane.

Aunt Jane was one of those people who you were instantly drawn to. She had a wonderful, friendly, loving and up-beat way about her and she was loved beyond measure. She was the last surviving sibling of my dad, Garvin Bennett. What a long, blessed life she had. My condolence to Janice and her family.
