I met Olan and Barb in late 1970’s. I quickly grew to appreciate his wisdom and discernment of Scripture. Truly a godly example of sacrifice for Christ. On one of their trips I was honored to have them stay at our house in Illinois. Heaven has welcomed one of God’s children home.

Brother Olan Hicks was truly a teacher at heart. It was suggested I read some of his literature and before I knew it I found myself having casual Bible discussions with hm and when he would be in the Georgia area. I would try to visit wherever he was. We corresponded over the years and rarely if ever did he not make time to discuss a text or topic with me. I am ever so grateful for his time, intellect and handling of scripture and his love for the Lord and the Lord's people.

I met Olan in 1991 at the Tulsa Soul Winning Workshop. He challenged my out look and my understanding of scripture. He impacted generations with spiritual balance.

I pray for the family of Olan. I had the pleasure of knowing both Olan and Barbara for many years mostly from a small country church. I have comfort in the strength of faith that he was so eager to share with others. I know that all your questions are answered and all the peace is there for you Olan. Thank you for the teaching and baptism of my sons. You will be held in fond memories.

Thinking of the family today and wishing we could be there. I hope the service is being taped because I can just picture the wonderful music and tributes that will be given for this giant of a man! We are so proud to have been a part of the huge circle of life that Olan Hicks touched.

Just a few words that come to mind after Uncle, Father, Husband, Brother, Son, Grandfather and Great Grandfather: Preacher, Evangelist, Teacher, Student, Counselor, Bible Scholar, Author, Musician, Singer, Long-Time Faithful Cubs Fan, Story Teller, Comedian, TV Repairman, Public Bible Debater, Traveler, Veteran.

We will sing again with you Uncle Olan! "When We All Get To Heaven! What A Day of Rejoicing That Will Be!" 🎶🎶🎶

What a life! What a journey! We stand proud!
