January 14, 1926 - May 28, 2019

Martha Peel Carozza was born January 14, 1926, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Whitfield C. and Zella (Creswell) Martin. She passed peacefully with her family by her side on May 28, 2019, in Berryville, Arkansas, at the age of 93.

Martha was of the Baptist faith, a Pastor's wife, and a charter member of Southern Heights Baptist Church in Berryville. After her husband passed away, leaving her with three teenagers to raise on her own, she returned to Ouachita University and obtained a degree in Sociology while still being a Dorm Mom to the football team. She then began career with the Arkansas Department of Human Services. After retirement, Martha moved to Berryville to work at the Great Passion Play. She was also a social worker for Head Start and a door greeter at Wal-Mart. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by three children, Martin Carozza of Berryville, Charles Carozza and wife, Donna, of Arkadelphia, and Carolyn Darling of Berryville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Connie French and husband, Robert, of Nashville, Arkansas; Allie Parker and husband, Jonathan, of Lincoln; Kyle Carozza and wife, Ashley, of Berryville; Mike Carozza and wife, Melissa, of Arkadelphia; Marc Carozza and wife, Ashley, of Arkadelphia; Tony Carozza and wife, Dayle, of Benton; Blake Darling and wife, Taryn, of Dallas, Texas; Annie Worley and husband, John, of Rogers; Jessica Hooten of Berryville; 21 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Bill Martin and wife, Jeannie, of Plano, Texas, and John Martin and wife, Mittia, of Pleasant Hill, California; many other relatives and friends.

On December 21, 1946, she was united in marriage with Michael Carozza who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, William C. Martin; sister-in-law, Mary K. Martin; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Carozza.

Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy, Arkansas.
