Charles Linn Berry

of Kensett, AR

May 18, 1941 - February 19, 2019

Charles ''Charlie'' Berry, 77, of Kensett and Searcy, passed away on February 19, 2019, surrounded by family in his home.

He was born on May 18, 1941 in Martin's Mill, Wayne County, Tennessee, and moved to White County as a child. He graduated from Searcy High in 1951 and began work at Clary, now Eaton Corp., one of eight original employees. He retired after 42 years, after working in several departments, as supervisor of receiving.

He married Linda Conway in 1962 and raised four children north of Searcy; in 1993 he married Zena Andrews Falcinelli and they lived in Kensett until his death.

Charlie was trained as an engineer and had an astonishing talent for building, tinkering, creating, and improving on everything he touched. He enjoyed being outdoors -- gardening, hunting, fishing, tracking, and backwoods camping. He loved great stories, good food, and bad design (because that gave him a chance to fix it.) He was a larger-than-life father and a loving husband.

He is preceded in death by his mother Dicie, father Charlie, brother Johnny Ray, sister Lucille, and son Rob. He is survived by his wife Zena, sons Scott and Brent (Brinda) Berry, daughter Joy Berry (Latt), step-daughter Jeanine Scarbrough (Rodney), nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Berry will be missed.
Our campfires will never be the same without him. Shared many great meals and great stories sitting by the fire with him. Diddy as we called him (Bonanza) will be missed at my campfire. I hope he saves me a chair at his new camp.
Prayers for the family.
