Jimmie R. Smith, 70, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was born at the old Rodgers Hospital in Searcy on June 22, 1948 to J.R. Smith and Vivian (Price) Smith. He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Audra Evans; and sister, Jeanne Doyle.
Jimmie was a builder/carpenter and worked in construction. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2247 in Searcy for 20 years. He loved music and playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed riding horses and going on trail rides. He loved his children dearly and cared greatly for all his family and friends.
Jimmie is survived by his mother, Vivian; son, Jeremy Smith (Jennifer); daughter, Amanda Osmon (Tim); sister, Elaine Griggs (Glenn); 12 grandchildren, Chelsea, Jessie, Brooke Evans, Aleigha, Haylee, Savannah, Aaron, Garett, Gabe, Bridget, Ben, and Brooke Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, April, Colton, Isabella, and Andrew; nephew, Brandon Stokes (Regina); and great-nieces and nephew, Mariah, Karli, and Branson.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Foster's Chapel Cemetery in Searcy under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.

I just found out yesterday about Jim. My sincerest condolences go out to his mama, sister, kids, and his ex-wife Erma! I am truly sorry!
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the family for the loss of your dear Jimmie. I hope that you will find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29 where he promised that the day is coming when he is going to resurrect back to life those in the grave. And they will be brought back to a beautiful paradise earth with no more sickness. (Psalm 37:11,29) (Isaiah 33:24) Until then, it is just like your dear Jimmie is sleeping. (John 11:11-13) May your family draw strength from Jehovah, the God of all Comfort.
Jim will be greatly miss by us all, he Always had a smile that lit the room that he was in. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so sad and heartbroken over the death of my BEST friend. We spent 18 years laughing and crying together and I will miss him every day. As our good friend, Knox used to say “see you on the flip side.†I love you my friend.
