Chester Thomas Stivers, age 86, Beebe, AR, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at home after a two year illness.
Chester was born November 24, 1932 in Sidon, AR, son of the late Jessie Andrew (Doc) and Birtha Mae Hampton Stivers. He was dedicated to his family, a skilled mechanic, liked to raise a garden, and enjoyed his dogs.
He married Ollie Belle Riley in 1954 at Hernando, MS. Chester and his wife, Ollie and children moved to Beebe, AR in 1965 where Chester was an auto mechanic and he and Ollie raised animals and crops on their farm. Later, Chester opened Chester Stiver's Garage in Beebe which he and Ollie operated for many years until they retired.
In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Johnson and brother, Daniel ''Sonny'' Stivers. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ollie Stivers; his son, Thomas Stivers and wife, Betsy of McGehee, AR, daughter, Deborah Graves of Beebe, AR, daughter, Mary Albritton and husband, Larry of Fort Worth, TX; 8 grandchildren, Rachel Stivers and husband, Todd Fry, of Phenix, AL, Sarah Morgan and husband James of Dharan, Nepal, Aaron Albritton and wife, Jenny of St. Louis, MO, Rebecca Myszak and husband Pat of Nicholasville, KY, Hannah Trimble and husband, Tanner of Austin, TX, Phillip Graves of Beebe, AR, Matt Albritton and wife, Katie of Dallas, TX, and Emily Lindsey of Butlerville, AR; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. John Floyd and Brother Robin McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Beebe Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home on Saturday, January 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Guys, I am sorry to hear that your dad was sick for 2 years. I know that was hard for him and yall. I always loved your dad, he was a good husband , dad and a hard working man for his family.
