Lorain Duffin Danner was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on June 1, 1924, she passed away on February 23, 2015. She lived most of her adult life in Searcy, Arkansas, where she worked as an office manager for local doctors. In addition, she was active at First Baptist Church, serving for years as a teacher in the children's department and in Vacation Bible School, participating in music ministry through handbells and organ, leading Women's Missionary Union, and always living in a manner worthy of her calling in Jesus Christ. For years she also volunteered as a teacher-trainer for the Arkansas Baptist Convention, conducting seminars and workshops across the state.
Besides church work, she pursued interests in many areas. She held numerous positions in Searcy's chapter of Extension Homemakers over the years and served as band parent during the 1960s and '70s. Also, she had a deep love for music. A long-time member of the Searcy Beethoven Club, she held various offices, including president; and of the Arkansas Federation of Music Clubs, where she served as state chaplain. She also volunteered as local chairman of National Music Week emphasis. She passed her musical interests down to her children, who have impressive achievements in voice, instruments and composition.
Her children are John Mearl, of Collinsville, Alabama; James Paul, of McKinney, Texas; Mark Richard, of Spokane, Washington; and Rebecca Ann Remley, of Birmingham, Alabama. She also leaves a sister, Betty Ann Wilfong, of Little Rock, Arkansas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Danner; her parents, Mearl and Ida Duffin; and an infant granddaughter, Ida Lucinda Remley.
Visitation will be 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM Monday, March 2, 2015 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas. Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Searcy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to any of the following: diabetes research, music ministry of Searcy First Baptist Church, National Federation of Music Clubs, or the Eye Foundation of America.

Heaven is more precious! Many precious memories of her love for the Lord and music. She loved her family so much. What a wonderful servant of the Father. Praying for your family as you celebrate her life.
My deepest sympathies for all of you. Mrs Danner was a very positive influence during my high school and college days, she supported my interest in music and when I changed to Accounting she inspired me with her talents in business as well.
Heaven got sweeter when she arrived.

My prayers are with the family. Even though I did not know Mrs. Danner, I know her daughter Rebecca. One can tell what a wonderful woman and mother Mrs. Danner was by the way her daughter turned out = another wonderful woman and mother.

My sympathies to you and your family. Becca I remember your mom as a wonderful gracious lady who loved The Lord and her family. It was so special to me that she knew my grandmother. That is such a wonderful memory for me. I hope you all have wonderful memories of this special lady to comfort you during this time of sorrow.
