James Monroe Reed, Jr, 66, of Batesville, AR, passed away March 24, 2020. He was born July 28, 1953 in Osceola, AR to James, Sr. and Bernice Reed. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, a member of the Batesville VFW, retired truck driver and mechanic, member of the Church of Christ in Harrisburg, and enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and playing pool. He is survived by his daughters: Paula Gavin (Fiancé Chris Shreve) of Harrison, AR and Teresa (Michael) Owens of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren: Timothy Neal of Cave City, Aiyana Burt of Jacksonville, Dexter Gavin of Batesville, AR, and Joseph Gavin, Jr of Harrison, AR; and a sister: Sequoia (Herbert) Henson of Arizona. Services are private and under the direction of Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola, AR.

Another Main Street kid here, fond memories of James Jr. Thought of him from time to time and the great times we all had back then. Surely will be missed, prayers be with the family.

He loved playing the guitar. Lived next door to him on Main Steet. I liked listening to him play.
