Lacy Lee Brewer, Sr., 78, of Dyess, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Jonesboro. Lacy was born September 11, 1941, in Tyronza to Lacy and Louise Brewer. He was a retired volunteer firefighter for the Dyess Fire Department, where he also served as fire chief several years ago. He worked for more than 30 years at Eddie Welch's Bumper Service in West Memphis. Lacy loved to hunt and fish and be outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda; son: Lacy Brewer II and his wife Brooke of Wilson; daughters: Tammy Cottingham and husband Bobby of Dyess and Angela Taylor and husband Robbie of Marie; fifteen grandchildren: Jennifer Cottingham, Jonathan Cottingham, Jordan Brooks and husband Dylan, Jerry Thompson and wife Jacey, Dalton Taylor and wife Morgan, Johannah Thompson fiancé Jon Bradshaw, Brianna Taylor, Aidan Taylor, Brett Brewer, Maycee Brewer, Samantha Brewer, Zackery Brewer, Julie Brewer, Sarah Brewer and Luke Chambers; five great-grandchildren: Heidi, Brantley, Blakely, Veda Thompson and Haven Bradshaw; sister: Nellie Walker of Faulkner, MS and brother: Earnest Brewer of Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother: William Brewer.

Lacy was a father figure and friend. I cannot tell you how many nights it was him and myself on a call or setting in the fire department. Words will never express the loss I feel. Lacy was a great man, I miss him dearly. To the family, I wish I could be there. I love you all, and will pray for you in this time.
