Martha Darlene (Pitts) Smith the daughter of Alvin and Lucy Pitts was born June 14, 1939 at Mountain View, Arkansas.

She passed away July 1, 2020 at the Waters of Mountain View, where she resided for 7 years, at the age of 81. Darlene had a heart of gold & a smile that was so beautiful it could charm the moon. Darlene first & foremost loved her God & Savior above all else. She was the best wife & mother anyone could want. She loved her husband Hershel with a passion & they shared a bond that only others could wish for. She raised her children in church where all 3 were saved & baptized.

Darlene loved her grandchildren & great grandchildren so very much they each one was very special to her. She loved being a disciple of God always helping others and never once thinking of herself. Darlene was saved at an early age and serving God was her delight. She was a long time member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church .Darlene will greatly be missed by her family & friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Gene Pitts; mother Lucy Pitts, and her father Alvin Pitts.

Survivors include her loving faithful devoted husband Hershel Smith of Fifty-Six; one son Leland Smith of Fifty-Six; two daughters Susie Lawrence-Boaz of Cabot Connie Williams & husband Gary of Mtn View; six grandchildren, Brad Lawrence and wife Ann of Sherwood, Heather Perez and husband Robert, of Cabot, Mandy Smith of Fifty-Six, Dillian Smith of Mtn View, Andy Williams and wife Tavie of Mtn. View, and Derek Smith and wife Amber of Onia; eleven great-grandchildren, Skylar Blake and husband Joseph, McKenzie Mitchell, Tarynn Calvin, Jadynn Perez, Keathlynn Perez, Bayle Lawrence, Leah Lawrence, Dalton Lawrence, Aydn Williams, Rowan Williams, Trestyn Smith, Weston Smith and Raeden Smith; two great-great grandchildren, Cannon Blake and Aluora Mitchell; two sisters, Irene Willming & late husband Don of Fifty-Six, Maxine Trammell and husband JE of Newnata; two brothers Roy Dean Pitts & late wife Madeline of Mtn View, and Ronnie Pitts and wife Francis of Fifty-Six.

Heaven gained a most precious angel this day!


Visitation is Friday, July 3, 2020, 12:00-2:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brothers Daryl Pitts and Gary Ragland officiating. Interment will be at Spoon Flat Cemetery in Fifty Six, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Brad Lawrence, Andy Williams, Dillian Smith, Derek Smith, Tony Trammell, and Bob Perez. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Pitts, Julian Pitts, Chris Pitts, Dewayne Pitts, Barry Joe Pitts, Aydn Williams, Dalton Lawrence and Silas Jones.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funerals and visitations to 1/3 chapel capacity.
