William Daniel Johnson, Sr., age 83, of Mountian View, Arkansas passed away at his home on Monday, February 10, 2020. Dan was born in Lula, Mississippi on December 15, 1936 to the late William Kitrell and Louise Geneva (Warden) Johnson. Dan was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from the Arkansas Highway Department; in addition to that Dan was also a retired Honorary Deputy with the Independence County Sheriff's Department. Dan will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Dan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Earline (Wilson) Johnson; one son, Dan Johnson and wife Terri; three sisters, Euna Jean Johnson, Dorothy Cayton, and Pat Roberts; grandson, Trey Johnson; granddaughter, Lezlie Johnson and great-grandson, Christopher Daniel Williams; along with many extended family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, William Kitrell and Louise Geneva (Warden) Johnson; one sister, Lou Kelley, and one son, Stephen Wilson Johnson.
Visitation for Dan is Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 AM with his son, Dan Johnson and Tommy Mitchum officiating.
Interment will take place at LaGrange Cemetery in Marianna, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Trey Johnson, Tommy Mitchum, Chris Williams, and James Harlow.
