Daniel "Danny" Lynn Tinkle

of Mountain View, AR

November 16, 1955 - December 17, 2019

Daniel Lynn Tinkle, 64, died on December 17, 2019, in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his family. Danny was born on November 16, 1955 to John and Gladys (Mitchell) Tinkle in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Danny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Robin (Luther) Tinkle; two daughters, Kasey Sims and husband Ladd, and Anna Harlan and husband Brandon; his mother Gladys Tinkle; three brothers and sister-in-laws, Johnny Tinkle, Steve Tinkle and wife Susan, and Tim Tinkle and wife Donna; Grandchildren who affectionately called him Poppie, Littlepage Sims, Laddie Sims, and Whitney Harlan; and cousins, aunts and uncles, nephews, and a niece; and a host of friends and extended Poultry Industry family that he worked with for many many years.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, John Tinkle; father-in-law Bob Luther; and sister-in-law Dr. Yoland Condrey Tinkle.
Danny was born and raised in Stone County, Arkansas where he lived most of his life. His family moved in Fall of 1959, to Indian Wells, California where he and his brothers would play in the desert and pick fruit from the neighbors. His family moved back to stay in Mountain View in 1966. The Tinkle boys were known as the pretty boys when the returned to school due to having colors or patterns on their shirts when everyone else had plain white t-shirts. Danny entered the poultry farming industry when his father bought a farm, and he and his brothers helped to build their first chicken house in 1967 for $2,000. He worked the chicken houses and also raised hogs and cattle. Danny was a member of the Mtn. View Class of 1974. His friends and fellow classmates caught chickens at night to raise money for their class trip. Danny also loved playing football and still told many stories during the times he would watch his grandsons play. Many of Danny's friends would stay with him because he lived in town, so Danny's mother had many extended sons. Danny started working for J.K. Sutherland in 1974 officially as a feed maker, delivery driver, truck unloader, and a little bit of everything. Danny started dating Robin Luther in the fall of 1971. They never stopped dating and married August 15, 1975 and had their first child Kasey in 1979. In 1984, after many years of having kidney issues, Danny received a kidney transplant from his brother Timmy. This would be his only kidney transplant that he needed. Danny was a hard worker and kicked back from his kidney transplant to work for the remainder of his days. He taught his family about hard work and pushing on despite his illness. Danny was a worker and wanted to raise chickens for himself, in 1985 he prepared to raise in one of his Dad's unused older chicken houses. His father, John, helped him prepare the house and he raised for the first time on his own. Again, his father John, and many other family members were excited for him and helped him prepare his chicken house road and pads for construction. So, in fall of 1988, the Danny Tinkle farm was started, and his dream of raising chickens on his own land was realized. Soon after building the houses, Anna, his youngest daughter was born. Robin, Kasey, and Anna would help Danny around the farm and they all loved to work side by side. Danny and his family were Farm Family of the Year in 1996. Throughout this time Danny enjoyed the friendship of his work family at Con Agra in Batesville and was a Service Technician. Danny worked in the poultry industry for 45 years from J.K. Sutherland to OMP. He enjoyed going around and visiting so many people. These growers of Dannys became some of the best told stories his family has heard and his growers heard many funny stories about his family. Danny worried about his growers, and he truly loved each and every one of them as family. Danny also enjoyed being on the Fairboard. He spent many years helping cook and clean over at the fairgrounds with people he enjoyed being around. Every year, they would attend convention where they all made many memories and laughed alot. Danny was super proud that his daughters married men that liked to farm and enjoyed their company greatly. Before Danny's oldest grandson was born, he and Robin figured out that they wanted to be called Mimi and Popsy. When Littlepage could talk, he was then called Poppie. Danny was very proud of his daughters and was extremely proud that they both graduated college. Danny loved history, was an extensive reader, and could talk about anything because he was very knowledgeable. If Danny had the TV remote, the History Channel was on. Danny loved to go to Littlepage's bluegrass performances, Laddie's football games, and Whitney's singing at church. He loved to watch his grandkids and helped teach them many life lessons. Danny loved spending time with Robin's family and his extended family. Wherever a family get together was, he was there, enjoying the company and eating the exceptional food. Danny was never known to get mad or have a temper, he was laid back and easy going, always happy and ready to tell a funny story. Danny gave his life to the Lord at an early age. Danny told his daughter Kasey that this was the best decision he ever made. His family and friends will miss him extensively, but we will see him again someday in Heaven.

On behalf of the Cooperative Extension Service, I convey our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Danny. It was a sad moment when I read of his passing forward, knowing and remembering him from high school. A stellar soul then and now, who never met a stranger and always tried to take care of the same. While he will be greatly missed, we take comfort in the legacy of his children and grandchildren, who example his character and principles. A life well lived, indeed.

Anyone who knew Danny , or as my daddy respectfully with love, called him “little Danny Tinkle” did love him. “ Good to the bone “ again quote from daddy. Danny worked at the feed mill where he touched many lives. Stories abound of those years, hammering out feed. His work ethic, positive nature and love for Robin and his family could be seen everyday all day. I am so blessed to have known him. My daddy, Danny Ray loves him dearly. Our prayers are with each of you.

I don't believe I have ever read an obituary and smiled as much as I did reading Danny's. He was one of the best people I've ever met and I'm certain he made us all greater in some way.

I pray God wraps His arms of peace and comfort around you all during this time of grief.
