George Claxton Ivy, 85, of Marcella, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. George was born on July 10, 1933 in Marcella, Arkansas to the late RN and Annie (Gray) Ivy. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a charter member Reeds Chapel Christian Church in Marcella, Arkansas. He worked as a farmer for most of his life and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
George is survived by his wife of 62 years Marilyn (Case) Ivy; two sons, David N. Ivy and wife Carolyn, Kenneth Ivy and wife Jesica; six grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph N., Stephanie, Jennifer, Johnathan, and Yuki; seven great-grandchildren, Anna, Ethan, Aiden, Luke, Emmalyn, Jackson, and Alexander; along with many extended family and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, RN and Annie (Gray) Ivy; two brothers, Fred and SL Ivy, and one sister, Mamie Kirkland.
Visitation for George is Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Thursday, January 17, 2019, 2:00 PM at Reeds Chapel Christian Church in Marcella, Arkansas with Thomas Ivy officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at York Cemetery in Marcella, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Paul Ivy, Jason Treat, Daniel Ivy, Jon Barnhart, Joseph Ivy, and Johnathan Ivy. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Davis, Josh Tyler, and Bryan King.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
