James David Brown, 74, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. David was born on May 13, 1944 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late James F. and Faye L. (Long) Brown. David was a loyal member and deacon of First Baptist Church since he was 25 years old. David owned and operated Sears in Mountain View for 19 years and later was a pest control technician. David and his wife Rebecca were instrumental in Operation Christmas Child and the shoebox program that allows children all over the world to receive Christmas gifts but more importantly showing them the love of Jesus Christ. David was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann (Baldwin) Brown of the home; two sons, James David Brown II of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Joel Dennis Brown of Mountain View, Arkansas; one daughter, Jennifer (Brown) Davis and husband Chris of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one brother, Stephen Brown and wife Alfreda of Mountain View, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Zachary Davis and wife Keleigh of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lindsay Garza and husband Bryce of Marion, Arkansas; Hunter Davis, and Hannah Davis both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter, Amelia and a host of extended family and friends.
His parents, James F. and Faye L. (Long) Brown preceded David in death.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018, from 1:00-2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Jason Ingram officiating. Interment will follow the service at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the 2018 FBC/OCC- David Brown Memorial Fund, 224 King Avenue, Mountain View, Arkansas 72560, any donations made to this are due by November 11, 2018 or Gideons International, PO Box 97251, Washington, D.C. 20090.
Pallbearers are Deacons of First Baptist Church.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
