Thomas "Tom" Dwight Williams

of Mountain View, AR

September 12, 1935 - September 19, 2019

Thomas Dwight Williams, of Mountain View, Ark., returned to his heavenly home on September 19, 2019. Thomas was born to the late Onus and Winnie Ward Williams, in Alco, Arkansas on September 12, 1935. Thomas was named after his maternal grandfather, the late Thomas Ward.

Thomas is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Lona Smith Williams of Mountain View; his only brother, whom he deeply loved and respected, Shirl Williams of Marshall, Arkansas; his three daughters & their families, Annette Williams Hooper of Batesville, Lori Williams McNeel of Fayetteville, and Michelle Williams Carter, of Batesville; his 5 grandchildren Brian Wright, Ashley Hooper, Mercedes Carter Mize, Maggie and Hayden McNeel; and his great grandson, Carter Mize.

Thomas was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Onus and Winnie, and his son Michael Thomas Williams.

Thomas lived a long and rewarding life. He was a shining example to all of a Christian man. He dedicated his life to his Lord and his family. Thomas was a leader in his Church, community, and provided leadership and spiritual guidance to the men in the local prison. He helped raise 4 children with patience, leadership, and encouragement. Thomas was a successful business man and excellent provider for his family. He was a devoted sports fan and likely the kindest, nicest man that one would ever meet. Thomas' faith provided him a lifetime of support. His family misses him dearly but is comforted that he is with Christ and our family that has gone on before.

Annette and family,
So sorry for the loss of your dad and husband to your mom. From all indications and what I've read, he was a wonderful Christian man. What a great testimony. Prayers for your family in the days and weeks to come!

I was saddened to here of Tom’s passing. He played a huge part in my teenage years, both in the church and at the shop. I learned much about living and life from the Williams. I am grateful for the positive impact they all had in my life. I pray God’s richest blessings and comfort for Lona and the girls.

I know he will be missed dearly but he in his real home, in the loving arms of our Father. He was the perfect father and modeled his Heavenly Father to his children. I am thankful to have heard the praises of his children who loved him dearly.
