Letha Ray Clingings, age 94 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life into her eternal Heavenly life on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at her home. She was born in Rock Creek, Arkansas on March 10th, 1925 to Pearlie O. Horton and Bertha A. Watts Horton.
First and foremost Letha loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Marshall Assembly of God Church. She was also an Assemblies of God minister since 1972. She pastored churches at Pindall, Cozahome and Leslie, Arkansas. Letha enjoyed hand-crafting quilts in her younger days. She worked at Flintrock Shirt Factory to help provide money for her son, Larry to attend college. She enjoyed her flower gardens and making a vegetable garden. It was hard to tell who enjoyed fishing more, her husband Felix, her son Harvey, or Letha. I guess you could include Larry in there as well. After being confined to home, she looked forward to visiting with friends and family on the telephone. Letha was a devoted wife and mother, giving her all to care for her handicapped son, Harvey, ensuring that he had as normal of a life as possible.
Survivors include her son, Larry Clingings and wife Gloria of Marshall; and many other extended family and friends.
Letha is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felix Douglas Clingings who passed away in 2013; her son, Harvey Clingings who passed away in 2015; her son, Dickie Lynn Clingings who passed away in 1951; and brothers, Grady Horton, Lois Olen Horton, Thomas Thelmo Horton and two infant brothers, Lloyd and Andrew Horton.
Funeral services for Letha will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 16th, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Phillip Clark and Bro. Allen Brock officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Harriet, Arkansas. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
