Gerald Wayne Metcalf, age 83 of Marshall, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, Arkansas. He was born in the township of Cypress Valley, Arkansas on July 4th, 1936 to James Henry Metcalf and Effie Bell Walthall Metcalf.

Wayne was a quiet and gentle man. He was at one with nature and loved to hike the trails on Buffalo River. Hence the nickname "Mountain Man" for which he was well known.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Jeanie Horn and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Effie Bell Metcalf; and three brothers. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Helen, who also preceded him in death.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, AR. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Rest in Peace Uncle Wayne, you are loved and will be missed.
