Kari Leann Holsted, age 43 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on to her heavenly life on Monday, September 30th, 2019 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Mountain View, Arkansas on June 2nd, 1976 to Benny Wayne Holsted and Ruth Overholt Holsted.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Tilley of the home; sons, Benjamin Balcom of Leslie and Charles Tilley of Bee Branch; daughters, Melissa Tilley of Leslie and Rebekah Tilley of Bee Branch; parents, Benny and Ruth Holsted of Leslie; brother, Kevin Overholt and wife Colleen of Leslie; niece and nephew, Todd Overholt of Springfield,MO and Elizabeth Overholt of Leslie; and many beloved cousins, extended family and friends. Kari is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts; her mother-in-law, Terry Tilley; and three of her husband's grandparents.
Kari attended the Nubbin Hill Church when she was able. She graduated from Leslie High School in 1994 and went on to Arkansas Tech where she earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology. When Kari began her teaching career she entered an alternative teacher certificate program where she obtained full certification and her teaching license last summer. She had a varied and full work history. She worked as Director of Ozark Heritage Arts Center for several years. She served as a Vista Volunteer on the Searcy County Literacy Council for some time and worked at DHS for almost 6 years. Kari also worked for Searcy County School District and currently worked for Shirley School District. Even with all of her work to keep her busy she was a farm girl at heart and loved working on the family farm. She enjoyed her horses, cows and other farm animals. Kari was a selfless, hardworking woman who always put the needs of others above her own. She loved and cherished her family dearly.
Funeral services for Kari will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 4th, 2019 at Nubbin Hill Church near Leslie, Arkansas with Bro. Joe Dale Williams, Bro. Glenn Pettus and Bro. Mike Proctor officiating. Special music will be performed by Determined by Grace. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, October 3rd, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Burial will follow the service in Nubbin Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor Boyd, Benny Boyd, James Ray, Sam Rudder, Jeff Parks, Steve Cornelius, Tim Bryant, Noah Shipp, Josh Treat, Tom Hargis, Don Horton and Dustin Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Sawyer Boyd, Todd Overholt, Lance Bauder, Travis Orange, Samuel Byrd, Charlie Tilley, Todd Ashley, Austin Passmore, Dakota Springstead and Zach Dickey.

I appreciated The friendship I had with Kari. She and I had many wonderful conversations together about many things. I am glad we had the opportunity to produce several theatrical productions at Ozark Center. She will be missed. God bless her soul.
My heartfelt condolences for all who knew and loved Kari! She always had a big heart and was always smiling. Even as a little girl, she was the first to befriend the new kids in her class. My daughter was one of those new kids! She will forever be missed.

I was very shocked and saddened to learn of Kari’s passing. Over the many years I knew her, we have had numerous conversations about everything you can think of. The world lost a good one.

I didn't know Kari all that well but have talked with her many times when our children attended LIS, she seemed like a wonderful person and very loved by the children. My condolences to her family.
