Billie Alean Carter Hoobler

Billie Alean Carter Hoobler, age 88 of Franklin, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Lepanto, Arkansas on October 24th, 1930 to James and Edith Carter. She married Alfred James Hoobler on September 13th, 1958 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Mrs. Hoobler was a distinguished teacher for over 30 years in Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan. Billie was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, Tennessee and she sang in the Senior Choir. She loved the Lord and enjoyed being in Bible study for many years where she also served. Billie loved to golf, sew, garden and spend time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Survivors include her daughter, Heather Thurman of Franklin, Tennessee; her son, Michael Hoobler of Whittemore, Michigan; four grandchildren, Lisa Borenski of Plymouth, Michigan, Elizabeth Thurman of Franklin, Tennessee, Mikey Hoobler of Boston, Massachusetts and Sarah Thurman of Chicago, Illinois; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Jimmie Sue Mathis of Chandler, Arizona.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Hoobler who passed away on January 6th, 1993; and one brother, Eugene Carter.

Graveside services for Billie will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 at Kuykendall Cemetery near Oxley, Arkansas with Bro. Chris Reade officiating. Burial will follow the service.
