Mabel Jane Kimbrell, age 93 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 at Twin Lakes Therapy and Living Center in Flippin, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall Arkansas on March 20th, 1926 to Stanley Bailey and Sarah Mathis Bailey. On December 23rd, 1944 she married John Daniel (J.D.) Kimbrell and to this union 5 children were born; Lena Faye, Johnny, Judy, Danny and Sara.
Mabel was of the Baptist faith and a member of the South Mountain Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas. She was a fifty year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Marshall Chapter 342. Everyone was welcome at the Kimbrell household and no one ever left hungry. Mabel was a wonderful cook and homemaker. One of her specialties, that everyone loved, was her homemade breads and doughnuts. Mabel shared her treats with many in the community. She was a self-taught, talented seamstress, sewing for her family. Over the years she made quilts for her grandchildren and later crocheted afghans for all the great grandchildren. Even with arthritis she kept her hands busy. Mabel was caregiver to her husband, J.D. who had Alzheimer's, for years before his passing in 1999. She was a three-time cancer survivor and after each surgery she battled through the chemo and radiation treatments but seldom complained.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Sarah Bailey; her husband, J.D.; one son, Johnny D. Kimbrell; and her siblings, Estelle Bailey, Ray Frances Bailey Watts, Delbert Bailey, Everett M. Bailey and Vera E. Bailey Bachuss.
Survivors include four children, Lena Faye (Doyle) Graham of Marshall, Judy Carol (Larry) Durham of Harrison, Danny Keith (Donna) Kimbrell of Harrison, Sara (James) Myatt of Vilonia;
Grandchildren, Janey Graham West, Toni Graham Cowles, Lance Durham, Jonathan Durham, Laura Kimbrell Redmon, Matt Kimbrell, Jamie Myatt Brown & Bryan Myatt; 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren with another to arrive in August. Also surviving are three step-grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, 14 step-great great grandchildren, special brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Edith Kimbrell of Pinehurst, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mabel will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Chris Reade officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, May 31st, 2019 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery near Marshall. Pallbearers will be Ray Barnes, Eddie Cannada, Rex Bachuss, Michael Horton, Danny Graham and Dennis Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be James Kelley and Mabel's grandsons.

I have great memories of spending time in her home with Sara when I was young. She was such a loving woman and a great cook. My heart goes out to the family. May your memories bring you comfort in the days to come. I love you all.

Loved Mabel very much. She was such a special lady. Sweet memories of time spent at her home as a teenager.
My gran, Helen Sanders, and Mabel were always great friends. Mabel was always such a sweetheart and she was one tough lady. Always thought she was such a pretty lady!! Now her and gran are getting to hang out again :)
