of Marshall, AR
June 8, 1941 - March 14, 2019
Georgia Sue Horton, 77, of Marshall, AR went to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Baptist Health Hospital in North Little Rock. She was born in the Canaan Community on June 8, 1941 to Wilburn H.G. Russell and Polly Ann Laffoon (Watts)(Russell). She was also blessed with an additional father later in life, Herman Dale Laffoon.
Georgia Sue was most known throughout her life for her smile and love for the Lord. She loved her family and especially loved being ''Moppy'' to her grandchildren. Everyone would know this because she was constantly sharing stories about them. She was a mother to many as you could often hear her introduce someone as ''this is another one of my kids'' as she adopted many people as her children in heart. Before her health would not allow her, she attended the Marshall Assembly of God Church. Her pastor and church family were precious to her. She made many friends through her career of more than 40 years as a hairdresser. Beginning her career in Memphis, Tennessee and finishing her career in her hometown of Marshall, Arkansas. During her retirement years, she had so much fun being a charter member of the Red Hot Divas (Red Hat Society) Marshall, Arkansas. She would smile when she would share ''my Red Hat name is Madam Jitter Sue''. Georgia Sue also served on the board of the Warm Water Therapy Association and spent many hours working in the WATA thrift store. She has provided so many treasured memories to all who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered and dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of over 30 years, Willie E. (Jitter) Horton of the home. A priceless mother/daughter bond was held between Georgia Sue and her birth daughter, Taya Flippo (Keith), of Green Forest, AR. When she married Jitter, love blended a family, gaining a son, Kelly Horton (Patty) of Greenbrier, AR, and a daughter, Shelley Waddell of Russellville, AR.; twelve grandchildren: Lakyn York (Nick), Tory James, Dalton Flippo, Zach Horton, Patrick Horton, Angie Adgeppa (Robert), Kyndale Yancey, Taylor Waddell, and Tyler Waddell (Ashley); seven great-grandchildren: Boaz, Scarlett, Brooklyn, Wallis, Addisyn, Kynadee, and Kambry; her sister, Nancy Docekal, of Witts Springs and her brother, Aubrey Laffoon (Teresa) of Rock Creek; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Georgia Sue is preceded in death by her birth father, Wilburn H. G. Russell; her mother, Polly Ann Laffoon; her gained father, Herman Dale Laffoon; her brother, Edmund Laffoon; and her brother-in-law, Gary Docekal.
Funeral services for Georgia Sue will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 18th, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Phillip Clark and Bro. John Myatt officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 till 7:00 PM Sunday, March 17th, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery near Marshall. Pallbearers will be Zach Horton, Patrick Horton, Taylor Waddell, Tyler Waddell, Nick York and Robert Agdeppa. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Reynolds.
My first introduction to Georgia Sue was as the other cousin named after our great grandfather. Mostly I remember a smile and a laugh, she is sharing those with old friends and family, now.
Georgia Sue and I were friends as freshman at ASTC. She was a very special person and I enjoyed her friendship.
I will miss my dear sweet cousin Georgia Sue. She was always so much fun when we cousins were gathered at our Granny Watts home. I remember her always telling funny stories. My heartfelt sympathy to all the family . 'Jitter" you are a fine fellow for being so good to Sue. And Taya and girls you had a special mother and grandmother. May you each have the comfort from the Lord in the days ahead. We will all miss her. Especially at our Watts /O'Neal Reunions. Prayers and Love to all, cousin Marinda Holliman

Bob and I were so sorry to hear of Sue's death. We hope that fond memories plus the company of your friends and loved ones will help you to cope with your loss.
Sue and I became friends when we sat near each other in
Mrs. Morrison's 1st grade. We had fun together all the way through high school. Sue's kindness and fun-loving nature made it easy for her to make friends. The smiling picture of the two of you with her obit captures her personality. Nell

Our deepest Sympathy
You will be missed.
She was a sweet lady and a great lifelong friend to my Mom. Prayers for you all.
A precious amazing and wonderful Woman of God! We will miss her so much. My best memories were walking by her on the back corner pew and rubbing her on the back every service as I made it to my seat. That beautiful smile would just spread across her face. She loved coming to church, and we will miss her so much. Now she will be in a continual church service in heaven worshipping for eternity. Sister Sue would always give our youth group a word of encouragement and mini sermon when we came to visit her in her home. Even though we came to pray for her she would end up praying over our youth. We will never forget her words of wisdom. We love you Jitter and family. Our prayers continue to be with you all.

May God Bless the family of Georgia Sue - I knew her from WATA when I visited Marshall and my cousins took me there and I got to visit with Georgia Sue. She was a Watts and I always tried to get her to come to our reunions - but I don't think she ever did. I know her family will miss her but please know she is in heaven now and in no pain!!! The Watts Family send their love and sympathy to each of you.
