Cecil Henry Blair, age 95 of Witts Springs, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at his home surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born in Magic Springs, Arkansas on February 28th, 1923 to the late Brunie B. Blair and Ethna Laymon Blair.
Cecil was drafted into the United States Army in May of 1943 and served our country until November of 1945. He fought in 5 major campaigns and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars for his service during WWII. This past May Cecil was a recipient of a Quilt of Valor. He came home from the war and married Agnes Taylor Blair. They were married for 62 years before her death in 2010.
Survivors include his eight children, Allen (Janet) Blair of Malvern, Alton (Anna) Blair of Albuquerque, NM, Ricky (Janet) Blair of Vilonia, Russell Blair of Witts Springs, Kenton (Loretta) Blair of Witts Springs, Kerry (Debra) Blair of Russellville, Marilyn (Darrell) Hollis of Conway Springs, KS and Mark Blair of Witts Springs; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Brown of Springfield, MO.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Brunie and Ethna Blair; his wife, Agnes Taylor Blair; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Blair; and siblings, Letha Grinder, Della Grinder and Homer Blair.
Funeral services for Cecil will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jimmie Smith and Bro. Tim Blair officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Witts Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kelley, Tim, Dusty, Clay, Brian, Craig, Quenton, Brandon, Steele, Cole and Caleb. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, April, Pepper, Gretchen, Courtney, Joni, Carissa, Ashley and Makayla.
Blessed to have known Cecil. Wonderful man with a wonderful family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr Blair was a member of the great generation. His service to his country and fellow man is deserving of recognition and praise. Pepper , Sydney and Maddison I know you will miss your grandfather and pray you take comfort in knowing you will see him again, in heaven. Am glad to say that I got to know Cecil & Agnes, and all the family. Got to spend my younger years with them at the Church of Christ. They were very good friends of my grandparents, Doc & Elsie Docekal, and these past few years, Cecil and my mom, Nancy were close as they would ride to town together on the Senior van..Thank you for your service Cecil, and may you rest in peace now
