Marvin Coombe, age 84 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at Highland Court in Marshall. He was born in Bald Knob, Arkansas on October 16th, 1934 to Vernon and Lillian Bruce Coombe.

Marvin was a professional welder. His welding skills helped build the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, the missile silos in central Arkansas and the Nuclear Powerhouse in Russellville, Arkansas.

Survivors include his five children, Douglas Coombe (Teresa) of Sidon, Bruce Coombe (Angel) of Marshall, Kathie McDaniel (Kenny) of Marshall, Terry Watts (Jarrett) of Leslie and Barbara Ragland (Clifton), also of Leslie; two brothers, Roy Coombe of Bangor, MI and Davis Coombe of South Haven, MI; three sisters, Lois Dunn of Clinton, Doris Teitel of Omaha and Alice Rayburn of South Haven, MI; twelve grandchildren, Malisa, Sherri, Mary, Dirk, Lyanya, Calley, Darrell, Jeanie, Alisa, Brandon, Cody and Caleb; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and his faithful dog, Shep. Marvin also leaves behind his wonderful caregivers at Highland Court Nursing Center in Marshall where he was given special attention and love during the last two years of his life.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lillian Coombe and one brother, Carl Coombe.

Memorial services for Marvin will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at the Thola Community Church with Bro. Jason Ragland officiating. Per Marvin's request, his body has been donated to UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital or The Gideon's International.

Marvin was a hard working man. He also did some contract work as a logger and dozer operator, and he did not let obstacles stop him. He was a very practical thinker. My sympathy to the family in their loss.

Praying for y'all, sorry for ur loss. He was a great man to take care of at the nursing home, when I worked there. I would always call his walker his horse, he would for get it sometime and I would tell him we got to get your horse before you can go so we don't leave him behind.
