Perry Ollie McCurley, age 86 of Fayetteville, Arkansas, formerly of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019 at the Arkansas State Veterans Home in Fayetteville. He was born in Harvest, Alabama on May 27th, 1932 to John William McCurley and Leada Smith McCurley.

Perry was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was severely injured by the bitter cold of North Korea during his service. Perry was an active and supportive member of The New Life Tabernacle Church in Marshall for 34 years. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 23 of those years and was teen leader for awhile. He was one of six children born to crop farming parents in Alabama. His mother died at an early age. He and his siblings were a very close-knit family. Perry enjoyed gardening. He loved to share his produce with family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Shelby ''Jenny'' Miller McCurley, of Fayetteville; step-daughter, Zelda Lynn McDougal of Batesville; sisters, Wilma Cowart of West Monroe, LA and Nita Wilson and husband Marion of Doyline, LA; brothers, John ''Jay'' McCurley and wife Sharon of Apple Valley, CA and Tommy McCurley and wife Linda of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters-in-law, Bobbye McCurley of Hurst, TX, Mondell Moore of Jackson, MS, Willie May Cubbage, Glenda Cassin and Mary Rowell, all of Lucedale, MS; brothers-in-law, Billy Wayne Miller and James Miller, both of MS; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will also mourn his passing.

Perry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Leada McCurley; his brother, Ernest McCurley; and brother-in-law, Bo Cowart.

Funeral services for Perry will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 15th, 2019 at New Life Tabernacle Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Rev. Don Campbell and Rev. James Miller officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 till 10:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Moore, Eddie Cannada, Tarance DePriest, Kenneth Daniels, Ronnie Horton and James Miller.
