Margarete Johanna Lipton

of Little Rock, AR

July 17, 1921 - April 1, 2019

Margarete Lipton (Queissner), 97, passed peacefully at home with her family on April 1, 2019. Margarete was born in Tzschochau, Low Silesia (Germany). She was a dear, loving mother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We will miss her beautiful smile.

Margarete is survived by her daughters, Marlyn Lipton and Darlene Younts (David); her granddaughters Johanna Rippy (Patrick) and Amanda Younts; and her great-granddaughter, Sage; all of Arkansas. She leaves behind a large family of nieces and nephews in Germany. Margarete was preceded in death by her husband, MSG Frank Lipton of Arkansas; her parents Selma & Robert Queissner; her sisters Martha Rossdeutcher (Hermann), Erna Drittich (Fritz), and Lena Succow (Helmut); her brothers Eric and Willie Queisssner; all of Germany.

Margarete spent her life in service to others, always caring for others before herself. She was a magnet to children, who gathered around her whenever she entered a room. She worked for Teletype and the Pulaski County School District in Arkansas, in addition to her various jobs in the US and Europe. She was a member of Baseline Christian Church and volunteered at the church and loved each member as a part of her family in Christ.

A special thanks to Brandi Phillips, who provided her care in her last years, and who loved her as a grandmother. A graveside service will be 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Little Rock National Cemetery in Little Rock. Please send donations to your favorite animal rescue in lieu of flowers.

This really breaks my heart because she was my absolute favorite from my time at Baseline. She had nothing but love for all she met and it showed. She even came to our house to congratulate me on graduating high school(1992) and to wish me well on my new life. My prayers are with the family and I will do my best to be there for services.

Dear Lipton Family,
Margarete attended the same church as my precious grandparents, Pete and Winifred Risser.
I haven't seen Margarete since their passing in 2005, but have such fond memories of her.
She did love everyone and she sure loved children. I loved getting a big old hug from her. I saw her every Easter there.
She was always one of my favorites and one of the first I would seek out to get a hug from and talk for a minute.
She is another angel in heaven and one day I will get to be there with her.
Sincerely,
Katherine Risser Rasmussen
