Vernon Dale "Runt'' Douglas, age 68, of Cotter, AR passed peacefully July 06, 2019 in Cotter. He was born on October 03, 1950 to Vernon and Marge Douglas (Snodgrass ) in Fallon, Nevada.
Dale served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973, from the age of 17 to 23. Dale was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed everything outdoors from hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and spending time with family outdoors. Dale worked as a fishing guide on the White River from 1973 up until his passing and exposed many generations of children to fishing and guided literally thousands of people on the river. If you truly knew Dale, you knew that he was one of the hardest working and loyal men you will have ever known and he always put everyone ahead of himself.
He is survived by one son: Dale (Amber) Douglas of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters: Jessica (Devin) Humphrey of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Jenny (Bill) Martin of Miami, Oklahoma, Crystal Rowe of Mountain Home and 8 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Roller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bob Davis Veterans Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
