Robert D. Rector, 78 of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in Mountain Home. He was born May 2, 1940, in Denver, Colorado to Clifton and Clela Mae (Yell) Rector. Bob married Naomi Elaine Gowins on June 11, 1971, in Lakewood, Colorado.
They loved camping and water sports. Naomi would drive their boat pulling a pyramid of 6, consisting of Bob, family & friends around Timnath Lake, Colorado.
Bob was a steel worker who eventually retired from Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant as a millwright. Moving to Gamaliel in 1995, they owned and operated Trails End Resort and Bob's Custom Made Lures.
Being a self-taught musician, his lifelong love of music found him performing in a German Polka Band. Later Naomi joined him to form the Country Dutchman, singing at many local events. He was also organist at the Mtn. Home Elks Lodge for many years.
Mr. Robert Rector is survived by his wife, Naomi Rector, of the home; to whom he was devoted for their 47 years of marriage, one sister, Sharle Yell of Sacramento, California and one brother, Jerry (Linda) Rector of Auburn, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Deborah Fingerlos, one brother, Clifton A. Rector and one Aunt Treva Coonts.
A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, February 3, at 1 p.m., at the Mtn. Home Elks Lodge #1714.
