of Mountain Home, AR

September 4, 1937 - December 25, 2018

Sally Ann (Balius) Nicoll passed into the hands of the Lord on Christmas morning, 2018 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Sally's life work centered on her faith; the care and nurturing of her family and close friends, and helping those in need.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 63 years, Donald Lyle Nicoll; her father, Clarence Balius; mother Margaret Balius; and brother, Edward Balius. She leaves behind five children; eight grand-children; five great-grand-children, and one goddaughter.
Sally was born on September 4, 1937 and raised on the east side of Aurora, Illinois. She attended Madonna High School and married Donald at St. Nicholas Church in 1955. She and Donald also lived in Muscatine, Iowa; Claremont and Rancho Cucamonga, California before retiring to Mountain Home in 1992. In addition to her work with Donald in raising their children, Sally worked as a real estate agent, as an administrator in the life insurance industry, and in benefits administration at the Claremont colleges.
Sally was an active member of Catholic parishes throughout her life, including St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Peter's at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 with Reverend Norbert Rappold, officiating.
The Nicoll family requests that no flowers be sent. Those who would like to make a memorial contribution may consider supporting St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic church, Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, or another charitable organization of their choice.

Our hearts go out to Sally's family at this time. She was the first neighbor to welcome us and always enjoyed talking to her and walking with her. She will be greatly missed by us. Keeping you all in our prayers.
