Arlene Luella Brees, age 86, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018. Arlene was born December 1, 1931 in Lawler, Iowa to Rufus and Alice (Zeigler) Schott. She had one younger brother, Paul Schott.
Arlene was a 1949 graduate of Forest City High School. She worked as an operator at the telephone office in Garner, Iowa. On July 12, 1955, Arlene was united in marriage to Clarence Brees of Cedar Falls, Iowa; to this union three sons were born. Mrs. Brees devoted many years of her life to the care and nurturing of her children and home. After the boys were grown, she enjoyed working in the retail industry while living in Aurora, CO. After retiring, Clarence and Arlene settled in Mountain Home, AR. Arlene was involved with Women's Circle at church and enjoyed working outside with her flowers and garden. She loved having friends over for coffee and anything to do with the grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her sons: Roger (Shari) Brees of Pierre, SD, Michael Brees of Clever, MO, and Timothy (Mary) Brees of Pine, CO; three grandsons: Mike Brees of Denver, CO, Cody (Brittany) Brees of Harrisburg, SD and Kyle Brees of Denver, CO, and two great-grandsons: Lincoln and Jackson Brees. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; her brother; sister-in-law, Bonnie Schott and brother-in-law, James Brees. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Pastor John Easterling officiating. Interment will be held in Hudson, Iowa at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Arkansas or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
