Ida Beatrice Lamkin, 76, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home. She was born September, 14, 1943 in Sumter, SC to Jasper Carl and Kitty Viola (Degerhart) Powell. Mrs. Lamkin retired from Lexis-Nexis after 25 years. She loved tennis, camping and gardening.
Mrs. Lamkin was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Carl Lamkin; 4 brothers, John Powell, Lewis Powell, Daniel Powell and Jasper Carl Powell Jr; and sister, Margaret Price.
Mrs. Lamkin leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 54 years, Billy Lamkin; a brother, George Powell of Columbia, SC; and three sisters, Clara Brink of Bishopville, SC, Hilda Krieger of Sumter, Dorothy Hickson of Bishopville and Celestine Mimms of Sumter, SC.
Chapel services will be 2 pm Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12 pm until time of service.
Logan Murray, Rodney Lamkin, Michael Lamkin, Nathan Harrell, Taylor Lamkin and Ryan Lamkin will serve as pallbearers.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance while observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
Bea was a very special lady. She always had a smile on her face. Bill my condolences to you and Bea’s family. May she Rest In Peace.
