Larry Smith, 79, of Brookland, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born February 10, 1941 in Brookland to Eugene and Mildred (Johnson) Smith. Larry worked for FARR and as a truck driver. He was a member of Woods Chapel Church and was a Mason. He loved fishing.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norris Smith and a grandson, Shawn Smith.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 60 years, Pat (Hathcoat) Smith; a son, Terry Smith; two daughters, Pam Wilson and Amber (Brent) Coggin; six grandchildren, Amanda Parnell, Paige Smith, Jacob Wilson, Josh Wilson, Kaylee Coggin and Cole Coggin; seven great-grandchildren, Christian Smith, Preslee Parnell, Piper Parnell, Luke Parnell, Layne Parnell, Madilyn Wilson and Laken Hester; one great-grandchild on the way, Avery Kate Wilson; and three brothers, Charles Smith, Darrell Smith and Noel Smith.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Saturday at the Pine Log Cemetery Pavillion in Brookland with Rick Hathcoat officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm with CDC 6 feet social distancing guidelines observed.
Pallbearers are Shane Parnell, Layne Parnell, Jacob Wilson, Josh Wilson, Brent Coggin and Christin Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Cole Coggin and Kaylee Coggin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
