Sandra Marie Ackeret, 80, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born July 13, 1939 in Mallory, West Virginia to Arnold and Lessie Mae (Spears) Perry. Mrs. Ackeret was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a St. Bernards Ladies Auxiliary Pink Lady, a founding member of the Lupus Support Group, a Boy Scout Council Executive's Wife. She also taught pre-school Sunday School, worked at the church care center, and was a hospice volunteer.
She is preceded in death by her parents: her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Ackeret; brothers, Arnold Ralph Perry, Jr., Daniel F. Perry, and sister Judith Ann Perry.
Left to cherish her memory is son, John (Susan) Ackeret; daughters, Kathy (Jim) Palmer and Barbara (Glen) Smith; grandchildren, Kristen (David) Elam, Rebecca Palmer, Austin Smith, Noah Smith, Mike (Geletha) Darter and Dedra (Brad) Baugh; great-grandchildren Sean Elam, Lukas Elam, Kayla, Kimmy and Kyleigh Darter, and Bebe Baugh; sister Linda Adkins, sister-in-law, Anne Marie Boelt; fur babies, Lacey and Miah, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, with Dr. Rodney Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, March 9, 2020 at the funeral home.
