Don Shurley, 72, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at his home. He was born September 6, 1946, to the late Emitt and Ruth Shurley, in Michigan City, Indiana.
Don was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church. He was a Quality Inspector for Goodyear Tire Company. He loved baseball and was an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Survivors include sons, Donnie (Connie) Shurley, Andy (Angie) Shurley, all of Rockmart, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Shurley, Mason Barnette, Will Shurley, Adam Shurley; great grandchildren, Will Terry, Brier Lanier, Bowen Shurley; brothers, Virgil (Barbara) Shurley, Howard Shurley of LaPorte, Indiana, David (Beverly ) Shurley of Rockford, Illinois; sister, Alta (Clarence) Fisher; and best friend, Mike Cope.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 11:00am, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, with Kenny Beaver officiating. Pallbearers include Brandon Shurley, Michael Arant, Mike Cope, Mike Fisher, Billy Fisher and Corey Cope. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
Visitation will be the funeral home Monday from 10:00am until time of service.
My uncle Donnie was good family or friend to anyone he came across, I we were always blessed to be in his presence .Everyone goes through tough times, and everyone deserves peace .

So very sorry to hear this .Don was a very wonderful man .I worked at the south wind height retirement home for several years and was friend with him .rest in piece my dear friend .gone but never forgotten.
Our heart felt condolences go out to all family and friends that we may all be comforted now knowing that he is at peace and with out pain.
