of Brookland, AR

August 30, 1935 - January 21, 2019

James Fielder, 83, of Brookland, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born at Walcott, on August 30, 1935, to Morris and Ruby (Dacus) Fielder. James was a master machinist for over 40 years and built houses for a few years. He trained thoroughbred horses as a side job for a while, which was his true occupational passion. Out of love for his family, he gave up training horses since it took time away from his children. He was a devoted father, grandfather and husband. James was always thinking about and caring for others. He always put other people's well being ahead of himself. He was a good friend and was loved by all that knew him. He liked very much to joke with all around him.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kay Fielder; one son, David Lynn Fielder; two brothers, Carl Fielder and Glen Fielder and one sister, Kathryn King.

Survivors include, daughter, Barbara (Jewell) Sellars; son, Rickey Fielder; one granddaughter, Melissa Sellars; one great-grandson, William Rickey Lee Hatfield.

There will be a memorial visitation, Friday, January 25, 2019 at 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope the words at Rev.21:4 bring you comfort. It says: "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
