Larry Junior Young

of Brookland, AR

June 5, 1956 - December 16, 2018

Larry Junior Young, 62, of Brookland, Arkansas, passed away on December 16, 2018. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 5, 1956, to Ireland and Allene Young.

Larry loved his family above all and enjoyed spending any free time with them and loving on his grandchildren. Branson and Florida were some of his favorite places to take his family to visit each year. He loved his job as a truck driver and enjoyed working for BTC Trucking for the past seventeen years. BTC Trucking was his extended family when he was away from home and on the road. Larry was kind and giving; he never met a stranger. He enjoyed collecting anything from musical instruments to toy matchbox cars. He was God-fearing and a member of the Woods Chapel General Baptist Church. He loved watching the Gaither's program on VTN and old westerns. He looked forward to helping his wife, Pat, get their garden started every spring.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of eighteen years; sons, Chris Wheeley, of the home, Ryan (Kesha) Young, Patrick (Ebony) Wheeley, Shane (Amber) McGinnis, and Scott (Rita) Wheeley; daughters, Stephanie (Gary) Arnold, Shaunya (Brad) Greathouse; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018, 11AM, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W Washington Ave, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Rick Hathcoat will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers for the service will be Earl Bracken, Scotty Nelson, Gary Arnold, Shane McGinnis, Chris Wheeley, Hunter Metcalf, Patrick Wheeley, and Ryan Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Bracken, Brad Greathouse, Bo James, and Barry Holden.

Visitation will be held prior to services, on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, 5-7PM, at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one, Larry. Death is very painful and the Bible speaks of death being an enemy at
1 Corinthians 15:26, but we can look forward to this enemy being brought to nothing and very soon you will see Larry again. At Revelation 21:4 it says, 'And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore'.
I hope you will find comfort in the Scriptures to help you through this sad time.
