Kenny Gibson

of Jonesboro, AR

October 15, 1960 - October 6, 2018

Kendall (Kenny) Gaylon Gibson, 57, of Jonesboro, died early Saturday morning, October 6th, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Kenny was born October 15th, 1960, in Jonesboro to Gaylon and Kay Gibson. He was preceded in death by his father Gaylon, and both sets of grandparents.

Loved by all who met him, Kenny never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting people, working on the farm with his father, and becoming familiar with numerous industries, including those that dealt with asphalt and farming equipment.

Kenny was an animal lover, and had a fondness for a few favorite family pets, including dog Rufus and three cats, Mittens and the "boys" Junior and Whiskers.

He enjoyed and loved his friends and staff members at The Learning Center and the Dogwood facility where he worked with other clients at the Pathfinder Workshop. No one who ever met Kenny could ever forget him. He could be the biggest ham and make people laugh at Christmas parties and special events where he could showcase his singing talents.

Survivors include his mother, Kay Gibson of Jonesboro, Uncles David (Joyce) Cook of Jonesboro and Bob
Cook of Oakland, California; and also his extended family which includes Mark Dunham, his wife Clare and
their children Sidney and Trent; and Tony and Joyce Files, all of whom considered Kenny and his Mom as family; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special thanks goes to the personnel at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House and Sandy Hester, who made Kenny's last days a peaceful and comfortable experience.

Arrangements are being handled by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Visitation for Kenny will be 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Monday. Funeral, officiated by Jim Roberts of Otwell Christian Church, will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Gibson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tim Cook, Glenn Cook, Tony Files, Shorty Carmichael, Lindy Alexander, Will Alexander, Lomer Tourney and Terry Moody. Honorary pallbearers include the Elders and Deacons of Otwell Christian Church, Stan Salmons, Randy and Tim Woodruff, Ben Honeycutt, Garfield Edgar, and Jerry Tubbs.

Those wishing to leave lasting memorials may consider the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Otwell Christian Church, The Learning Center of Jonesboro and the Dogwood Pathfinder facility of Jonesboro.

Prayers going up to Kenny's family and Friends. I had plans to stop in at Hospice house Sunday after church. I had called all around to the hospitals looking for him after I had heard the news of his sickness. We all will have a huge Void in our lives as Kenny touch all of us with his smiles and love for everyone he came in contact with. MAY THE PEACE OF THE LORD BE WITH YOU ALL.
