Dorothy Mae Barber, 84, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Mrs. Barber was born May 14, 1934 in Jonesboro to Floyd and Effie Martin Coleman. She loved gardening, sewing, and most of all, loving on her grandbabies. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was retired from JIMCO.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, John M. Barber; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Dale (Amy) Barber; two daughters, Sheila (Keith) Ford and Karen (Jimmy) Bryant; four grandchildren, Kendra (Ryan) Platt, Matt Ford, Ashley Ford, and Brittney (Michael) Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Alaina Platt, Carter Platt and Miller Johnson.
Graveside services will be 10 am Friday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with James Hewitt officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
