Mary Ann McFadden Frizzell

of England, AR

December 22, 1939 - August 16, 2019

.

Mary Ann Compton McFadden Frizzell, 79 of England, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 12:57 P.M. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Homer Forrest Compton, Dora Zeta Wilson Compton Bowman, step-father Boyce Bowman and her sister Betty Hass and Mary's first husband of 41 years Eldridge ''Jitter'' McFadden and second husband of 12 years Otha Eugene Frizzell.

Mary is survived by her children. Terri (Keith) Felton of North Little Rock and Mike (Rhelinda) McFadden of Lonoke; step-son Mike (Angie) Frizzell of Cabot; and a brother Billy (Beth) Compton of Mobile, Alabama. Mary's grandchildren named her ''Gigi'' and were the love of her life: Hunter and Keithley (Kiki) Felton, Madison and Lindsey McFadden, Lindsey (Barry) Duncan and a great-grandchild Chael Pierce and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary especially loved to love on people, but most of all she loved her Lord, attending church, and serving her church family. She had a true servant's heart and was a faithful member of the England Church of Christ.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Newport High School and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after graduating until 1969 when she and Jitter moved to England, Arkansas. She retired from Roller-England Funeral Home after nearly 20 years of service.

Mary was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Mallard Bowling League at Stuttgart, Arkansas and was known as ''Lightning'' by her bowling buddies. She also enjoyed other sports. She played softball, golf and had a great time playing Bunco with her ''Bunco'' girls. Growing up in Newport, Arkansas she was known as one of the best football players on her block.

The family would like to express their gratitude and love to Jamie Jacobs-McGraw for the love and care that she provided to Mary during her final journey and to the host of extended family and friends who have been by her side throughout this journey.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Roller England Funeral Home Chapel from 5-7 PM with funeral services at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 19, 2019 also at Roller England Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mulberry Cemetery, England, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to the England Church of Christ, 201 N.E. 3rd, England, Arkansas 72046 or to Mulberry Cemetery Association c/o Diane Nutz 118 Haywood, England, Arkansas 72046.

Dear Terri and Mike, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mother! I have known Mary Ann since we lived on the same block at Newport. It was so great that we both ended up in England and continued our friendship all these many years! She was the best employee I ever had at Nan"s Young fashions, I know you will miss her terribly, as will every one who knew her..Love to all of her family. Nan

Terri and Kiki, I can’t began to tell you how much Mary Ann meant to me. She made such a difference in my life. She was the friend you could talk to about anything. I have such wonderful memories of her. I still smile when I think about our senior year and that railroad trestle. If it hadn’t been for her I don’t think I would have married Charlie. We are still together after 58 years.
We were so excited when we found out our granddaughter’s knew each other. We are so happy that Kiki and Meg are roommates this year. Our sweet Mary Ann is loved by so many.
She will forever live in my heart. I’m a better person for knowing her. We will be together again!! My heart and prayers go out to your family!!

Even when death is expected, it is so very unexpected when it finally comes. I am a classmate of Mary Ann's, graduated with her in 1957 from Newport High School. She was and remains one of my dear, good friends. I am so thankful that I was able to stop and visit with her at the hospice on July 22nd on my way back to Newport from Texas. I got to tell her goodbye and that I loved her. She told me on that visit that she was going home that weekend. I thought it just talk but was, and now not even a month later, she has truly gone HOME. Give rest, O Christ, to Mary Ann with all thy saints where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.

Mary Ann Compton McFadden Frizzell was a kind and gentle soul. We managed to stay in touch since we were in school together in Newport, Arkansas - more than 60 years. Each time I saw her, it was like we had never been apart. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to visit with her overnight last year. I will miss her loving friendship. I am certain she made this world a better place because she was in it. Seeing her was always special.
