Alfred Glen Huggins

of Marshall, AR

April 1, 1949 - September 18, 2019

Alfred Glen Huggins (Al), 70, of Marshall, Arkansas, parted this world on September 18, 2019 in Guymon, Oklahoma, after a long battle with cancer. Graveside services will at Shady Grove Cemetery in Shirley, Arkansas. The date of services is pending.

Al was born April 1, 1947 to Leonard and Lenois Huggins. He has lived in both Washington and Missouri and attended high school in Deepwater, Missouri. Al worked in drafting as well as the logging industry. He enjoyed nothing more than fishing, hunting and enjoying nature with his sons. He loved the outdoors and was an avid collector of arrowheads and beautiful and interesting rocks, of which he amassed a huge collection. He was good with his hands and made elaborate carvings from both wood and antlers. He also made necklaces for his girls. Al was a wanderer and enjoyed traveling the country. He loved his horse Buttons and adored showing off her many tricks to visiting children. He loved spending time with his kids tromping through the woods, talking long into the night, swimming in the creek, fishing and hunting arrowheads together. He was both a collector of things and a collector of friends, and was known for his kind heart.

Al is survived by his children, Kathy Yates, Thornton, Colorado; Shelly Neasham, Independence, Missouri, Danny Neasham, Independence, Missouri, and Spencer Goettch and his wife Christine, Columbia Falls, Montana; three brothers, Dennis Huggins, Tightwad, Missouri, Claude Huggins, Marshall, Arkansas and Gordy Huggins, Darrington, Washington; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Al was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother, Bobby Huggins and a sister, Doris Jean Huggins.

I am so sorry to hear about Alfred Glen. I have memories of us being in school together a short time in Shirley and then his family would visit us occasionally after moving out of state. He was always smiling and sweet. Prayers for his children, brothers , and grandchildren during this time.

I love you dad. Reuniting with you filled a hole in my heart and I will cherish the time we had together. I’m happy you got to know your great-grandbabies too. There is never enough time - I hoped I would get to see you one more time. I’ll always cherish the last text you sent to me just hours before you died - Ok precious, I love you. I love you too dad and know that somewhere you are sitting by a lake, fishing pole in hand, having the time of your life and in no more pain. We will miss you.
