Fern Gayle Floyd, 87, of Clinton, Arkansas was born on October 5, 1931, to the late Jess C. and Helen M. (Bradley) Bates in Rose Bud, Arkansas and passed from this life on May 8, 2019 in Clinton, Arkansas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and precious friend. Fern loved her yard and grew the most beautiful flowers. She was also a devoted Saint Louis Cardinal fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Chester W. Floyd, three brothers; Joe D. Bates, Paul D. Bates, Bill D. Bates and one sister, Jesse L. Pruss.

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Stacy Polston and husband Randy, one granddaughter, Shana Headley, two great granddaughters; Stella Klaire Headley, Sophie Kate Headley, one sister, Johnny Golden and husband Jimmy, other relatives and many friends.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the medical and support staff at Ozark Health Nursing Center and to the many residents that were so dear to Fern.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Huie Cemetery in Clinton.

I remember Fern fondly from working as a teenager at the Bluebonnet in the 50s. She was always a sweet person.
