Benny Carroll Edwards passed from this life on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 69 after a long battle with lung disease. He was born on July 2, 1949 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to Willie Mae (Gordon) Edwards and Luther Edwards. He was a lifelong resident of Bee Branch and a member of Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church.
Benny was a brilliant business man and spent the majority of his life doing what he loved, ''taking care of business.'' Benny's business portfolio is a display of his dedication to hard work and determination. He started out in the dairy business and went on to be successful in other ventures - building and refurbishing dairy barns, establishing Central Arkansas Dairy Supply in Bee Branch, owning/operating Snappy Food Mart in Bee Branch for 38 years, owning/operating Snappy Mart in Harrison, establishing and operating Western Sizzlin Steakhouse in Clinton for 13 years and most recently establishing Snappy's South in Damascus. He loved business, but he also loved the outdoors including elk hunting in Colorado and running his cattle farm.
Benny is survived by his four children, Staci (Tim) Clark of Bee Branch, Keri Edwards of Vilonia, Jami (Tom) Fooshee of Bee Branch, Benny ''Chip'' Carroll Edwards II of Bee Branch, two sisters Helen (Doyne) Ward of Clinton, and Pat (Bill) Rogers of Bee Branch. Benny is also survived by five grandchildren, Alex and Austin Clark of Bee Branch, Coby Wilson of Columbia, Missouri, Camron and Chelby Wilson of Vilonia and three step-grandchildren Hunter Fooshee of Bee Branch, Carley Fooshee of Palestine, Arkansas and McKenzie Fooshee of Colorado Springs, Colorado and a host of dear family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10am at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton with the funeral following at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends Recovery Ministry, 10044 Hwy 65 South, Bee Branch, AR 72013.
