Billy Don Owens, 84, of Clinton was born on February 20, 1934 to the late Jesse and Hettie (Baze) Owens in Brady, Texas and passed from this life on November 26, 2018 at his home on Holly Mountain, near Clinton. He was a member of the Pee Dee Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Army and worked for over three decades for Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Most of his distinguished career was in the supervision of building electrical substations throughout most of Arkansas.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; Jesse Anderson Owens and Hettie (Dutch) Tommye Baze Owens, the wife of his youth, Vada Jean Harness Owens, the wife of his twilight, Alma Owens, three brothers; G. B. Owens, Jerry Lynn Owens and Tom Baze Owens.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Joe Mitchell Owens and wife Kaye of Russellville, Arkansas, one daughter, Dena Gale Owens Dean and husband Rance of Winamac, Indiana, six grandchildren; Jaret Griggs, Kali Griggs, Emily Kestle, Bryce Owens, Brooke Owens, Lauren Owens, two brothers; Howell Dean Owens and wife Wanda of Clinton, Arkansas, Randall Jesse Owens and wife Ellen of Footville, Wisconsin, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Holly Mountain cemetery. For online guestbook, www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/clinton

Sorry to hear of Bill's passing. My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers goes out to his family. I knew Bill and Vada when I grew up in Fort Worth, TX. Later, after we all moved back to Van Buren County, Arkansas, my brother Tim worked on his crew one summer, building the Petit Jean Electric substation west of Clinton. So, he was a lifelong friend to me and my family.
