Geraldine Othello Jones (Hefner) 83 of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born May 2, 1935 in Alread, Arkansas to the late Jerl and Ila (Watson) Hefner.
Geraldine graduated from Alread School in 1952. She married Garner Ray Jones on June 20, 1953.
Geraldine and Garner Ray moved to Washington State in 1955 and then to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1961. They moved back to Naches Washington in 1963 where they lived for many years.
Geraldine sold Avon products for several years and then was a long-term employee of Snokist Growers in Naches and Yakima Washington.
Geraldine and Garner Ray moved to Washington State to pick fruit and for other job opportunities. In 1955, Geraldine and Garner moved to Little Rock so Garner could attend business school. Upon completion of Garner's classes, they moved back to Naches Washington to raise their family. They moved back to Arkansas to retire.
Geraldine loved to grow roses and African violets. She was also known for her baked goods. Family especially loved her cherry pie and coconut cream pie.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her spouse of 59 years, Garner Ray Jones, and one daughter, Nancy Jo in 1959.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Kay Reeder who lives in Spokane, Washington; and two sons, Ray Dean Jones and Jeffrey Lynn Jones who live in Yakima, Washington. Also, four grandchildren, Amber Reeder and Christopher Reeder, Madison (Jones) Tebow and Allison Jones; three great grandchildren, Charlotte Tebow, Grayson Tebow, and Hannah Martin. Geraldine is also survived by two brothers Bob Hefner and Winston Hefner.
Funeral services for Geraldine O. Jones is 10:00am Friday, June 15, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Community Church in Alread, AR. Visitation is 6-8pm Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, AR.
