John Raymond Elbrecht, 89, of Evening Shade passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017.
He was born on May 15, 1928 in Dearborn, Michigan to Robert Elbrecht and Mary (Kairzer) Elbrecht.
John was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. He loved his family and his church family and was a member of Little Springs Baptist Church. He was kind, considerate, funny, generous, happy, sarcastic, and an inventor in his own right. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, fishing and fixing things. His most enjoyed hobby was music and playing the organ.
He is survived by his wife, Lettie (Workman) Elbrecht; two sons, David Allen Elbrecht of Land of Lakes, Florida and Jerry Franklin Elbrecht of Evening Shade, Arkansas; two daughters, Barbara Camp of Lakeland, Florida and Laura Jessie Vallance of Evening Shade, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren, James Wesley Boone, Jason Lee Boone, Angela Kuhn, Jeremy Camp, Elysia Brandt, Alan Adam Vallance, Noah Vallance, Ricky Medina, John Joseph Elbrecht, Cory Elbrecht, Cody Elbrecht, Devin Elbrecht, Jared Elbrecht, Jayden Elbrecht, and Jayden Elbrecht; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Lydia, Lenora, London, Lana, Olivia, Asher, Daisy, Gideon, Kaylee, Kuentin, Braylee, Noah, Twilight, and Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jessie Elbrecht; three brothers, Robert Elbrecht Jr., Thomas Elbrecht, and James Elbrecht; son, John Raymond Jr.; and daughter, Shirley Snedeker.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
